Today I learnt more about interviews and how to say the right thing during them. It’s natural to feel nervous before the interview itself, but what’s important is being prepared beforehand — doing a lot of research behind the company’s values and what they’re looking for, the importance of body language, tone of voice and eye contact during an interview, as well as the ability to tackle difficult questions like ones where you don’t have any experience on.
An emphasis on the last part — one of the most important things I took away from it is how to answer it while still being honest and not waffling it. For example, when asked whether I have experience in doing a certain thing, I could say: “I’m gonna be honest; I have no experience in doing that, HOWEVER, if I were in that situation, I would…”
This makes me appear more confident and helps keep the interviewer interested and engaged with me.
