CV Review

After an appointment for a CV review with one of the employability staff, there were a few suggestions made to improve upon the CV I currently have.

The short bio I had written, while okay, felt more like I was regurgitating the obvious information instead of elaborating on my passions and skills. One of the suggestions was to focus on what I was passionate with when it comes to design — basically making the bio more personal to me instead of just telling them that I was a student.

Another suggestion was adding in my GCSEs. As there would be too many subjects to list out, they advised me to just state the number of GCSEs I took, followed by “including English, Maths, etc.” in brackets and the grades. That way, it wouldn’t take up too much space.

Other than that, the language I used for my work experiences and skills are generally strong and are what potential employers in the design industry would be looking out for.
